HERE ARE THE 5 BEST
BOOKS ON BOURBON FOR 2017
Every year we feature the best books on bourbon that we can find – and thanks to the Bourbon BOOM, there are some better publications than ever!
If you are a true bourbon lover, these readers can take you behind the scenes of your favorite label in a way average drinkers don’t have access to.
Here are the ones that made the cut this year!
DEATH & CO: MODERN CLASSIC COCKTAILS
Death & Co. is a bar that has earned the right to write the definitive book on classic cocktail.
I own at least 25 cocktail books, and this is truly one of the best, most beautiful, and most interesting cocktail books you will ever own. This is not just a list of cocktail recipes. There are more than 100 pages of instruction about technique before you even get to the recipes. And the recipes themselves (in addition to being very good) are well organized.
This is a big, well illustrated cocktail book that makes for a great coffee table centerpiece!
BOURBON: THE RISE, FALL AND REBIRTH OF AN AMERICAN WHISKEY
This is one of the best books on the history of bourbon that I have in my collection.
Bourbon: The Rise, Fall, and Rebirth of an American Whiskey was written by a man who really knows his stuff – Wall Street Journal-bestselling author Fred Minnick. Fred also wrote Whiskey Women: The Untold Story of How Women Saved Bourbon, and Bourbon Curious: A Simple Tasting Guide for the Savvy Drinker. Just check out some of the reviews!
THE BIG MAN OF JIM BEAM: BOOKER NOE AND THE NUMBER-ONE BOURBON IN THE WORLD
You all know how I feel about Booker’s Bourbon! Booker Noe was the Master Distiller emeritus of Jim Beam, grandson of Beam himself and creator of the Booker’s Bourbon that bears his name. He was a larger than life legend in the bourbon world known for his commanding height and personality. His death in 2004 was a huge loss to the bourbon community. This book brings a little bit of his life into the present.

THE KENTUCKY BOURBON COOKBOOK
It happens to all of us: You buy a bottle of bourbon that looks promising and it turns out to bomb. What to do with the rest? That’s where the Kentucky Bourbon Cookbook comes to the rescue!
Over 50 recipes are broken down into the four seasons of the year, and feature recipes such as Kentucky Bourbon Pancakes; Asian Strawberry Kentucky Bourbon Shrimp; and Bourbon and Green Garlic Kentucky Short Ribs. Hands down, this is one of the best books on bourbon cooking that you will find anywhere!
P.S. If you are planning on losing weight this year, do not buy this book!
